Personal Information
- Account Data: Name, phone number (used for login and OTP verification).
- Driver Partner Data: Aadhaar Card, Driving License (DL), Vehicle Registration (RC), bank details, and photograph (strictly for identity verification and payouts).
- Communications: Any feedback, support requests, or communications with our team.
Location Information (Crucial for Service)
Customer App: We collect your precise location data when the app is running in the foreground to show nearby vehicles and calculate fares. If you grant permission, we may collect background location to track your active trip.
Driver App: We collect precise location data in the foreground and background while you are "Online". This is necessary to dispatch rides to you and allow customers to track their booked vehicle.
Location Ka Use: Customer ki location sirf ride pick-up ke liye use hoti hai. Driver ki location background mein track hoti hai taaki ride aasaani se di ja sake aur customer dekh sake ki gaadi kahan tak aayi hai.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Bihar Sathi platform.
- To match customers with drivers and track trips in real-time.
- To calculate accurate fares based on distance.
- To provide customer support and resolve disputes.
- To ensure safety and security (e.g., verifying driver identities, SOS features).
- To send transactional updates (booking confirmations, OTPs).
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We DO NOT sell your personal data to third parties. We only share information in the following circumstances:
- Between Users: When a ride is booked, we share the driver's name, photo, vehicle number, and live location with the customer. We share the customer's pickup location and name with the driver.
- With Service Providers: We use trusted third parties (e.g., Firebase for database, Razorpay for payments) who process data securely on our behalf.
- For Legal Reasons: If required by law enforcement, courts, or government regulations in Bihar or India.
Data Sharing: Jab aap gaadi book karte hain, toh driver ko sirf aapka pickup location aur naam dikhta hai. Hum aapka phone number hide rakhte hain (app-based calling) taaki aapki privacy bani rahe.
4. Data Security
We implement robust security measures to protect your data. All data transmitted between your app and our servers is encrypted. User data is stored on secure Firebase servers with strict access controls.
5. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information.
If you wish to completely delete your account and associated data from the Bihar Sathi platform, you can:
- Use the "Delete Account" option directly inside the Bihar Sathi App (Profile > Settings > Delete Account).
- Submit a deletion request on our dedicated Data Deletion Page.

6. Permissions Explained
When using our app, we request the following permissions:
- Location: Required to find drivers and track rides.
- Camera / Storage (Drivers Only): Required to upload KYC documents.
- Phone/Call: Required to contact the driver/customer during an active ride.
